Happy Earth Day!  What are some of your favorite ways to reduce, reuse and recycle?

In honor of Earth Day, we've switched all our heavily used lights to compact fluorescent bulbs, which were on wicked huge sale at GASP! Wal-Mart today...

On a more consistent level, my family has always kept the heat as cool as possible and the air conditioning as warm as possible...run only full loads of dishes and laundry...and taken short showers because it's cheaper! 

Since living in the Northeast, where just about everything is much more conscientious, I've started taking my own bags to the grocery (which is looked upon as absolutely insane in suburban Kentucky,) stopped eating commercially raised fish, and drive as little as possible/combine trips.  It's difficult in this neck of the woods...there is NO reliable, safe public transportation and the only way to get around is a personal auto, but every little bit helps.

Girl, boy, game you should have won, job you should have gotten…tell us about one that got away.

There was a boy I knew long ago...we worked together.  He had a very, um, overprotective girlfriend, and I had my share of problems/paramours at the time.  We drifted apart, then in and out of each other's lives for the next ten years.  I still know him well and call him a friend...but he is scarred from a marriage that didn't work...and women that treated him badly.

If only I would have gotten to him earlier, maybe I wouldn't have been the love of his life, or he the love of mine...but maybe I could have been the woman that showed him that a lot of us like fun...and intimacy...and just loving life. 

I still love everything about him, both who he was then and who is has become...which is fodder for another question of the day.
